Attendance
‘Children who have good routines are more likely
to be calm, relaxed and ready to learn!
It is really important that your child comes to school every day and arrives on time.
When children arrive late it is very disruptive to them and their peers. Young children need a smooth, calm and relaxed start to the day that gives them time to say their goodbyes and parents’ time to pass on information.
It is inevitable that many of the children will have illnesses that mean they are unable to attend school, it is important that they are kept at home for this reason only. Even when a child is off for just one day important concepts that are being taught are missed and the children then have to catch up.
If your child is not going to be in school please ensure that you telephone the school office 01373 463781 and inform us on the absence line before 8.45am every day that they are absent. Please state what the illness is to help us monitor and track outbreaks of specific illnesses and infections. If we have not heard from you by 9.30am we will phone you to check that you and your child are ok. This is a legal requirement.
